Barbara S. Kahn, 82, of 3800 London Rd., died Sunday, August 24, 2003 at home with her family after a brief illness.

Barbara was born April 28, 1921 in Detroit, Mich., to Abraham Suffrin and Sarah Lippman Suffrin. Barbara graduated from the University of Michigan and worked as an accountant. She was active in the women's auxillary of the Lying-In Hospital and was a generous supporter of many causes. Barbara was a bridge life master at the age of 40 and also enjoyed tennis, golf, and bowling. She loved theatre and was a prolific reader.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Aron Kahn, of Duluth, and her children Laurie Kahn Kuelpman (David) of Calif., Nancy L. Kahn, of Seattle, and Arno Kahn (Margi Preus) of Duluth and by her grandchildren Pasha and Misha Kahn of Duluth and Michael and Matthew Kuelpman of Calif.

SERVICE:11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 26 at Temple Israel, 1602 E. 2nd St. The burial will be at Temple Emanuel Cemetery, at 4400 Woodland Ave. Memorials can be made to Temple Israel. Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home.
